After a crooked medusa from garbage Chris at fat kat's tattoo, I went to peacocks for a consult. The lady at the desk was awesome and honest with me, and then the piercer Shayla was amazing. She was also very honest about my botched medusa, gave me advice on the process of being able to repierce it after healing, and then she pierced my bottom lip. She took a great deal of time to make sure it was perfect, and she's got a really quick and steady hand. Practically painless, and perfectly straight, and she's super easy to talk to just like the rest of the staff. I can't wait for this medusa to close up so Shayla can pierce it correctly for me! Ive never had any piercings before yesterday and was super disappointed when it came out crooked. Israel reassured me the first one was put in the wrong spot and that he would be able to correct it by re-piercing. I was definitely a little nervous since the first one didnt go as planned but his confidence and reassurance as a piercing artist eased any doubts I had. I came in with a surface bar piercing that I was trying to remove but could not get to budge. These beautiful souls spent 45 minutes getting it out for me - and I mean giving me juice boxes, wiping my tears, being extremely supportive and sweet. There ended up being some scar tissue that had caused it to be so difficult to remove. Im so grateful to all of them for their kindness - they never once made me feel like I was being a baby even though I was crying. Kat, Peacock, and Israel - youre amazing and I adore you!! Had my three piercing done by Kat (belly button, both sides of my nostrils) and man can I tell you this was the best experience Ive had walking into any shop. Not only was everyones customer service outstanding, my piercer Kat was just amazing. They worked around my allergies to make sure I was fitted with the proper jewelry. Piercings were so quick and near painless that after she did the first one I wanted two more! Highly highly recommend this shop and most definitely go see Kat for your piercing needs.

EDITED TO ADD: I went back to have them look and they informed me that TJ was let go and they apologized profusely, took out the jewelry, and gave me a card for a free piercing so they got more stars for the great follow up.
So just went in for my Daith piercing and we arrived at 8pm, well within the time before closing, no one was in the lobby (customer wise) and the lady up front was very nice and helped answered all of my questions. She then called the piercer TJ and he came in, didnt say anything just stapled my paperwork, signed it and took the payment. He asked me to go in the back and I asked if he by chance had a lollipop or anything sweet since I am a faint risk and wasnt sure if i was going to do the piercing today so I didnt bring anything and he said no sorry.
I said ok, well I am a faint risk so I just wanted to let you know. He didnt look at my paperwork at all, asked me to turn up my head to look at my ear and in about 30 seconds had the needle already through, hardly any warning or prep except for a ready 1, 2 and by 1 he was already piercing. So I was in a lot of pain, which I expect, and he get the jewelry in, balls on and wipes up my ear a bit.
Proceeds to clean up while I am trying to make sure I dont start passing out and he starts walking out of the room expecting me to follow him, only about a min after the piercing.
I follow him and he doesnt really say anything as I head out, i did give him a tip cuz thats just the right thing to do, but once I got outside I proceeded to cry because I just felt so discarded, rushed and not cared for at all. Not like when I got my septum pierced and I almost did faint and several of the piercers including Barbie made sure I was ok.
I hope TJ get better bedside manner, maybe he was tired but I did not enjoy my experience this time.

Went to get my earlobes pierced, it was super quick and everyone was professional. After marking them they asked me to make sure if I was ok with it and adjusted accordingly. They made sure to thoroughly explain to me the aftercare.

Friendly staff, went in for a size-up mistakenly thinking I had 12g jewellery in. I ordered 10g elsewhere; turns out what I had in already were actually 16g but the gentleman who helped me still managed to get the new larger rings in. 3 sizes up in one go is no mean feat, but he did it quickly and professionally (though it was DEFINITELY painful). No charge, just tipped! Lots of awards on the walls, and they're in touch with other local piercers. I'll definitely be back for my next sizing-up, or another piercing (or tattoo!) should I decide on one.

My best friend and I came here on Friday 11/26 to impulsively get our nipples pierced, its been a work in progress for months. We didnt schedule an appt, and even with being a walk in we were taken in and helped instead of being denied! The woman at the front desk was extremely kind and answered all of our questions or concerns. Both my best friend and I have pretty significant nickel allergies, and she talked to us about what kinds of jewelry they use as well as gave us different options and prices up front!
Now the piercer - Barbie this absolute angel of a woman! Let me tell you, when youre in the room about to get pierced by this woman, all of your worries and stress disappears. She makes you feel comfortable, starts conversations to distract you, talks to you about concerns and explains everything thoroughly. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and she has your fears and comfort in mind. So many piercers will get frustrated with their customers hesitance and will outwardly express it. That never once happened with her. Shes patient and makes sure youre ready before even touching you. I wish I got all my piercings done by her! I love them.

The place seems clean and she used gloves and sterilized my ears etc. I wish I had been given a little more direction about aftercare because I slept on my side the first two nights and now one side is not healing as well as the other.

My best friend and I came here on Friday 11/26 to impulsively get our nipples pierced, its been a work in progress for months. We didnt schedule an appt, and even with being a walk in we were taken in and helped instead of being denied! The woman at the front desk was extremely kind and answered all of our questions or concerns. Both my best friend and I have pretty significant nickel allergies, and she talked to us about what kinds of jewelry they use as well as gave us different options and prices up front!
Now the piercer - Barbie this absolute angel of a woman! Let me tell you, when youre in the room about to get pierced by this woman, all of your worries and stress disappears. She makes you feel comfortable, starts conversations to distract you, talks to you about concerns and explains everything thoroughly. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and she has your fears and comfort in mind. So many piercers will get frustrated with their customers hesitance and will outwardly express it. That never once happened with her. Shes patient and makes sure youre ready before even touching you. I wish I got all my piercings done by her! I love them.

I got my first tattoo here from Will last night and it turned out phenomenally! He made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process and explained each step before doing it. Friendly staff, went in for a size-up mistakenly thinking I had 12g jewellery in. I ordered 10g elsewhere; turns out what I had in already were actually 16g but the gentleman who helped me still managed to get the new larger rings in. 3 sizes up in one go is no mean feat, but he did it quickly and professionally (though it was DEFINITELY painful). No charge, just tipped! Lots of awards on the walls, and they're in touch with other local piercers. I'll definitely be back for my next sizing-up, or another piercing (or tattoo!) should I decide on one.

Some confusion at first who was going to do our tattoos but Dwayne ended up doing all 3 pcs and we're glad he did. Very professional, down to earth, and took his time. Made sure everything was done right before we walked out the door. Definitely going back to him for future pieces.

Great service, we had two people get piercing and the lady did a great job. The only negative i would say was having to wait for an hour but that's to be expected on a Saturday night when they had 6 ppl all come in back to back for piercings and there is only one person working that does piercing. Other than that, it was great.

I got my first tattoo on December 22 at this tattoo joint. They were very respectful and understanding. As a first timer, they made sure I was comfortable and actually calmed my nerves by making small jokes while it was happening. I got tattooed by Chris and he was very courteous. I got exactly what I wanted and it looks amazing.

My artist was very kind and I appreciated her banter during the process. She was able to replicate exactly what I wanted to scale, (which i had previously been told couldn't be done at another location) and I am really pleased with the way that it turned out. I'm pleased to say that I have gotten three of my four tattoos here at peacocks, and honestly, every time i've gone, its only been a great experience. The people at the desk are chill, and helpful, asking what i wanted done, etc, and promptly had me scheduled for an appointment or had me in the back and ready to go in less that ten minutes.
I've also had the pleasure of being tattooed by cricket, shannon, and another gentleman, whose name i've unfortunately forgotten. All three were polite without seeming condescending, playful without being unprofessional, and generally exceeded all expectations. on one eventful day, while i was getting the inside of me left bicep decked out in sweet lettering, i actually passed out. That was simply me being foolish by not preparing for the tattoo, but cricket took the time to make sure i was stable, helped me realize my surroundings, and brought me a sprite to make sure i was ok. that was more than i could have asked for, and i'm still grateful for how gently and carefully he brought me back to reality. he made sure i was fully aware and comfortable before even approaching the topic of continuing the tattoo!
my most recent tattoo, from the gentleman whose name i have forgotten- (i should have grabbed a card, he was a delight!) -kept me chuckling and comfortable and we chatted about cars while he went to work. it didn't hurt that he rocked a little coldplay while he went about needling away at my arm.
they are careful with checking age and whether or not you are fit enough to go through with your tattoo, i.e. being intoxicated, or under the influence of drugs, if you have eaten enough that day, etc. every time i walk in there, i only feel secure knowing that they have my back.
my tattoos themselves are exceptional. no issues at all, unlike my first, when i went to another parlor and found myself uncomfortable and with a poorly done tattoo, (at a famous and reputable parlor, no less. :/) all my tattoos have healed spectacularly, and they advise on after care, and encourage you to come to them if there is a problem. its very nice being able to know that i can count on peacock's for my body art needs, and trust me, it is a need. after the experience at peacock's, they routinely pop into my head whenever i feel the itch for fresh ink.
i also love the flash and art that permeates their studio. its nice to walk around and look, and they give you the opportunity to look at their artist's work before making a decision. no pressure, no problems, minimal pain. a must go to place if you want bitchin body art with a chill atmosphere. here's to you, peacock;s!

Once upon a time, when I was a young dumbass, I got my tongue pierced at Peacock's which was then located on Merrill Rd. I don't remember much of the experience except the girl who pierced me was very nice and I felt bad for her because she later encountered my mother at Target who said to her, "You must be the one who pierced my daughter's tongue." How my mom managed to assume correctly that this was THE girl who was guilty of defiling her child, was (and still is) beyond my understanding of the natural order of things. I think mothers develop some sort of sixth sense that enables them to innately identify anything that threatens to expose their children as anything other than the upstanding citizens of the world who they tried to raise them to be.

Let's fast forward 13 years. I'm still a dumbass. I still have the tongue ring. I used to have an eyebrow ring. And I just recently got my 3rd tattoo. That 3rd tattoo was done at Peacock's (now on the corner of Beach and St. John's Bluff). The front of the shop has comfortable couches and lots of flash to browse through. The back (where the magic happens) was clean and the walls were covered with fantastically dark paintings, i.e. skulls, alien creatures, and the bride of Frankenstein who stared down at me the entire time. I wanted to get a phoenix on my arm and I was paired up with Shannon, the tattoo artist, to make it happen. I first met Shannon the week before, when I set up the appointment, and he seemed a bit humorless and more than a little condescending, so I wasn't sure if this was going to work. But, he redeemed himself by making sure I was comfortable and engaging me and my small entourage of friends in conversation, including answering a bunch of questions that I'm sure he's heard a million times. The posse was there only because none of them had ever seen a tattoo made in real life, not because I needed moral support, I swear. And I think they were also secretly hoping that I would cry. Which I didn't, thank you very much.

For those who have never had a tattoo, here's what happens. Your choice body part is shaven, then sanitized. Then a transfer medium is rubbed on you which is followed by a stencil. Then the tattoo gun starts buzzing and your choice body part gets set on fire. Just kidding - it's not that bad. People seem to want to know what a tattoo feels like. At its best, it feels like repeated light pinching. At its worst, it feels like a bunch of needles being stuck into you over and over again. It is what it is. The only teeth-gritting times were when he was working on my shoulder and during the tail end of the 3rd hour when I was getting sore, tired of sitting and hungry.

So, anyway, 3 hours later, I was left with a lovely and colorful phoenix on my arm. Shannon turned out to be an honest and decent guy and the price he charged was fair. All in all, a productive way to spend the 4th of July.

Was visiting in town for the weekend, and had an idea for a tattoo, Rod was my artist. He was very honest and straight forward about my ideas and explained that my original idea wouldn't have turned out nicely and suggested a different placement of the tattoo and a size change, to have the tattoo fit my body better. I was hesitant at first because I was unsure how it would turn out, but when he put the stencil on my skin before he start the process, I was amazed on how perfect the tattoo was placed - he really knows what he's doing. He was very professional and definitely cared a lot about creating beautiful pieces of art, much more the money. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new tatt or even their first!

My tattoo artist was Jarrod who did a phenomenal job doing a cover up. He was very attentive to my very specific design; made some great suggestions and the end result was a tattoo that was far better then I anticipated. During the session he made sure that the pain was at a minimum (I seriously did not feel most of it) and that I was comfortable. Most tattoo artist power through aggressively without consideration for their client. This not the case with Jarrod. He kept a good conversation flowing in order to keep your mind busy and gave constant breaks if needed. Then he backed away from the work to triple check from a distance that it was as perfect as it can be. Thanks to everyone at Peacock Tattoo, very professional and attentive.

Killer tat. Killer service. What an awesome guy!! We are from Colorado and plan to get my third from him when we come back in July

This is the only place I will recommend to anyone who wants a tattoo. My bf has been coming here for years and I can see why. I'm so glad that I have finally found the place to get all my tattoos done. Bo Dillard is who I recommend he is very kind and will keep you entertained for the hours you sit. You can ask anything you want and you'll get that and more. His details to his art is impeccable. I can't wait to get my next tattoo!

Piercing for my birthday. Very clean shop. Friendly. Piercer did an amazing job. Nearly painless. Will be back for more!

Came to vacation in Florida and decided to stop by and get tattooed here. I'm very happy with my tattoo Kenny did an awesome job and if I'm back in Jacksonville he will be definitely someone I go to see for another tattoo.

Got my tattoo and industrial done there. Tattooist is gone but Angel did my industrial I love it will be back for more!

Got my first tattoo done for my birthday and was so nervous but Letitia was So amazing!!! She made the experience so awesome!! I couldn't believe how perfect the tattoo came out she has angel hands for sure!

Got a tattoo done few months ago, when i visited Jacksonville & my tattoo artist was amazing, he made sure I was happy with it . very Informative & made me feel comfortable. I honestly recommend this place & will return when I go back to Jacksonville

Husband and I both got tattoos today by Joya. Can't say it was anything but great... they came out incredible. Studio was clean and well-kept; Joya was professional and did a mighty fine job. Can't see any reason to go elsewhere. We had an appointment which I would suggest since the place was busy.

I've had all eight of my tattoos done here and my husband has had all four of his done here. I even brought my daughter here for her first tattoo when she was 16. I had my first tat done in 2000, so I've been using Peacock's for a while. I refer all my friends here.

Obviously in the past 15 years, there's been turnover of the tattoo artists, but they have all been great. Everyone in the shop has always been nothing but kind and friendly. The artists do great work and make you feel at ease. I can't remember the names of everyone who has put ink on me, but I know Cricket has done a couple and Spencer has done a couple.

The shop is really clean. That's something you should always been looking for when you want some ink. I know I can trust the cleanliness here.

The first couple of tats I had done were flash. Uggg... I know. What was I thinking getting flash? Well, I chalk it up to young and stupid. They are great pieces and were done well, but now I want my ink to be original. I go in with a concept and the guys have always been great at drawing up exactly what I had in mind. I've been super impressed with the tats they've drawn up for hubby b/c he gets much bigger pieces than me which are more intricate in design.

Peacock's is a bit more expensive than other tattoo places, but you get what you pay for. I'm not sure about you, but if I'm going to have something on my body for the rest of my life, I prefer for it to be perfect. For that, I'm willing to shell out the extra bit of dough!

Got a double helix piercing. Very clean and professional. The lady (can't remember her name sorry) was awesome and was able to cope with the fact I was freaking out :/

I've had all four of my tattoos done here and I'm very pleased with them all. I have accumulated them over time, so the artists have changed....one thing that hasn't is the quality!

This shop is a little on the pricey side, but it's well worth the price. The quality of the work they do is awesome. If you're looking for a quality tattoo and are willing to pay a little more then this is the place to go.

Alana did my tattoo of the Pisces symbol. She did an amazing job and has great pricing!! The entire staff was very friendly. I will be back to visit Peacocks in the future!

My sister had her hand and arm done, really nice. This place is ALWAYS packed. Make an appointment. I went and watch my Godsister have her good pierced.l, it was quick and appeared painless....yeah right;)
